(MENA) The Oaks at Mena Assisted Living Center, located at 1341 Mena Street will officially closed at Midnight, Saturday evening.
A donated items yard sale was held on Friday at the facility and the last remaining patients were transferred to other facilities.
Approximately twenty-five patients and twenty-five employees were displaced due to the closure.
The closure is being blamed on the inadequacies of reimbursement monies from Medicare and Medicaid for the low-income patients at the facility.
The Arkansas Development Finance Agency will take possession of the property since the facility closed. No word on what will become of the property.
