Jovan Thomas, a seventeen year employee of the Polk County Assessor’s office, is seeking election as Assessor. She will be on the November 4th general election ballot as an Independent candidate.
(Mena, Ark.) Jovan Thomas, a seventeen year employee of the Polk County Assessor’s office, is seeking election as Assessor. She will be on the November 4th general election ballot as an Independent candidate.
She has served as Chief Deputy Assessor for the last 8 years, with an extensive background of continuing education pertaining to all aspects of the office, including personal property, business personal and real estate. She has received her level 4 appraiser certification and is a member of the IAAO (International Association of Assessing Officers). She is also a member of the State Chapter of IAAO and the Arkansas Assessor’s Association.
Jovan is married to Mike Thomas and they share three children, Tiffany and Tyler Simpson and Braden Thomas. She has lived in Polk County since childhood and plans to eventually retire here.
Jovan states, “I enjoy working in the assessor’s office and with the people on a daily basis. My reason for seeking election is to continue to provide the best service to people of the county in a fair and equitable manner.”
