The home of Christopher and Brenda Ridley of Acorn sustained extensive damage today due to fire. Acorn Rural Fire Department responded to the residence located at 160 Polk 90 at approximately 12:50 p.m. and was able to quickly confine the flames to the kitchen area; however, the entire home received massive smoke and water damage. Ink Rural Fire Department assisted by providing an additional tanker truck as crews battled the fire amid very windy conditions.
No one was home at the time of the fire and the exact cause is undetermined at this time.
