UPDATED LIST of Winter Weather Closings

Mena, Acorn, Oden, Bethel Christian and Cossatot River  Schools released students today early due to the winter weather moving into the area and will remain closed through Friday. All school related activities, including basketball games, have been cancelled.

Grace Place Academy will be closed Friday.

Rich Mountain Community College cancelled classes at 1 p.m. Thursday and will be closed Friday.

Smithville Public Schools has not announced an early dismissal for Thursday but has cancelled classes for Friday.

Christian Motorcyclist Association will be closed on Friday.

The Sugarplum Bazaar, hosted by the Acorn High School Art Club has been rescheduled for the 14th of December.

The Mena School Choir Concert scheduled for this evening has been postponed until December 10.

The Thursday meeting of the Polk County Rotary Club has been cancelled.

The 7 pm Thursday  Al-Anon meeting at First United Methodist Church in Mena has been cancelled.

The Mena Christmas Festival, First United Methodist Church live nativity, and the Northside Shop & Stroll are all postponed until December 13.

The Cove Holiday Celebration has been postponed until December 14.

The Ouachita Little Theatre auditions scheduled for Thursday evening have been cancelled. As of this post, the Saturday auditions will remain as scheduled.

The 3-Day Community Nativity Festival sponsored by the First Presbyterian Church will continue as scheduled.

RMCC Toys for Tots telethon originally scheduled for Saturday, December 7 has been rescheduled to Saturday, December 14 from 2 to 5 pm..  The ABATE toy run associated with the program will also be postponed to noon on the 14th.
